Dopo il trambusto del trasloco abbiamo finalmente l'adsl a casa ed eccomi qua con qualche foto in più. Questa che vedete è Bassano del Grappa (VI). E' un paesino piccolo ma davvero carino!! Il ponte che vedete in legno è del 1500. Se siete da queste parti vale la pena passare di la!

It's a small town but really nice!! The bridge you see is wooden made and is from 1500. If you are around here it worth it to pass there!

Orvieto - Umbria

Orvieto è una cittadina che si trova in Umbria a circa 1 ora di auto da Terni. Come la maggior parte delle città medievali umbre è immersa nel verde e si erge sopra un colle. E' una città molto carina che vale la pena vedere se vi in Umbria ed è famosa principalmente per 2 cose: la cattedrale ed il pozzo di S. Patrizio. Qui troverete alcune foto di entrambi. Il pozzo è particolare perchè è costituito da 2 scalinate a spirale percorribili da muli che non si incontrano mai. Lungo le scalinate sono presenti finestre che danno all'interno del pozzo. Non ricordo nè la profondità nè quando fu costruito ma se vi interessa potete trovare le informazioni in questi siti: Orvieto turismo e Comune di Orvieto

Orvieto is a small town in Umbria at about 1 hour ride from Terni. Like the majority of the medieval towns in umbria is in the midle of green mountains and built on a hill. It's a very pretty town that is worth seeing is you will be in Umbria. It is mainly famous for 2 things: the cathedral and S. Patrizio well. The well is particular because of its 2 spiral stairs that never meet and walkable by dunkies. All along the stairs that are windows that open inside the well. Terni - Parco La Passeggiata

Guardando alcune foto del 2005 ho trovato alcune foto del parco La Passeggiata di Terni. E' un parco nel centro della città abbastanza grande e molto carino. Durante l'era Pontificia era il giardino privato del Vescovo di Terni. Si trova infatti alle spalle del Duomo ed all'interno delle mura antiche della città. All'interno del parco ci sono anche i resti dell'anfiteatro romano che è stato in parte restaurato e viene utilizzato per i concerti d'estate. Durante l'inverno invece viene utilizzata una piccola chiesa sconsacrata che si trova anch'essa all'interno del parco e che è stata restaurata ed adibita a sala concerti. Forse l'unica pecca è il nome...non hanno avuto molta fantasia! Sfortunatamente ho solo qualche foto della fontana principale...

Looking at some pictures from 2005 i found some photos of a park in Terni named La Passeggiata ( The walk). It's a nice park in the center of the town and it's big enough. During the Pontificia era (The Church state) the park was the private garden of the Terni catholic bishop. In fact is situated behind the main cathedral and inside the old city walls. Inside there is also the romane anfitheater that has been partly restored and is currently used for summer classical concerts. At winter time concerts are performed in a small deconsacreted church inside the park that has also been restored and used as a concert hall. Maybe the only negative aspect is the name...they didn't have much fantasy! Unfortunatly i only have some pictures of the main fountain....

Vicenza - Parco Querini

Questo è il bellissimo parco Querini di Vicenza. Questa foto è stata scattata all'inizio della primavera, il periodo più bello dell'anno per il parco.

S. Pietro - Vaticano

Sicuramente molti di voi saranno già stati al Vaticano. Ci sono stato molte volte ma rimango sempre meravigliato dalla grandezza di quest'opera. Questa foto rende un pochino l'idea della bellezza del posto.

Surely many of you have already been at the Vatican. I have been there many times but i am always amazed by the greatness of this work. This picture gives a little idea of its beauty.

Spoleto - Umbria

Questo è il ponte di Spoleto, dove ho chiesto a Kornelia di sposarmi. Ho scelto un luogo alto in modo da farle venire qualche sospetto sulle possibili conseguenze (mai apertamente dichiarate) derivanti da un rifiuto! Capite bene che senza tali condizioni non avrebbe mai accettato!
Purtroppo la foto non è un granché perché a causa della posizione ma è l'unica che ho in digitale. La prossima volta ve ne porterò una migliore. Spoleto si trova a 30 minuti da Terni ca. E' una città bellissima. Con tantissime opere come questo ponte o la Rocca Albornoz. Il ponte aveva 3 funzioni, acquedotto, passaggio da un monte all'altro e torre di avvistamento. Nella sommità scorreva l'acqua proveniente da una sorgente che si trova nelle vicinanze della torre sulla destra. Dall'altra parte del ponte ad un livello inferiore rispetto alla sommità c'è una strada larga 2-3 m ca. e proprio al centro del ponte potete vedere un piccolo arco, quello è un balcone dal quale si accede dalla strada. Dal bancone c'è un bellissimo panorama che domina la valle. Se vi trovate in Umbria è una città da non perdere. Ogni anno si svolge anche il festival dei 2 mondi nel quale partecipano musicisti da tutto il mondo.

I am sure you understand that without such conditions she would have never said yes!
Unfortunatly the picture is not that good due to the position but is the only one i have on digital at the moment. Next time i will show you a better one. Spoleto is located in Umbria at about 30 min. from Terni. It's a beautiful town with lots of things to see, like this bridge or the Albornoz castle. The bridge had 3 porpuses, water distribution system, connection between the 2 mounts and watch tower. On top of the bridge was running the water (roman style system) coming from a source next to the tower you can see on the right. Behind the bridge (on the other side) there is a street 2-3 m. large. Also in the midle of the bridge you can see a small arch. That's a balcony from which you can see the whole valley with a beautiful panorama. If you go in Umbria you can't miss Spoleto. Every year there is also a famous music festival called "Festival of the 2 worlds" in which participate many musicians from all over the world.
